(CIDESCO) DIPLOMA aims to:

    • Give a solid foundation in Facial and Body Treatments as well as skills such as Nails, Make-Up, Waxing
    • Support management professionals by giving them fundamental knowledge in this subject
    • Prepare students for new career opportunities in this area
    • This course also allows you to make a smooth transition to any of our many beauty and wellness programmes.

RECOGNITION
Upon successful completion, graduates of this programme can be allocated to salons to work as Facial Therapist, Body and Spa Therapist, Educators and many more.

CASE STUDIES
Candidates are required to have 4 different case studies.

WRITTEN PROJECT
Thesis: original research, written by the candidate closely to the study of beauty therapy, 4000 words with illustrated with art work, photographs etc.

ADDITIONAL SUBJECT
(45 minutes) marks for choice subject, depth of background knowledge, presentation of the by the candidate to express her own individual choice, knowledge, client care, hygiene

Assessment and Examination
At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module.
Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include assignments, tests, thesis and final examinations.

In-House Examinations Theory: 1 hour 30 mins (MCQ) Practical: 6 hours 25 mins (Include Face, Body and Special Subject)

CIDESCO Examinations Theory: 1 hour 30 mins (MCQ) Practical: 6 hours 25 mins (Include Face, Body and Special Subject)

Total Marks: 100 Pass Marks: 70/100

Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirements are:

  • At least 16 years old & above
  • Academic: Secondary 3 (Grade 9) or equivalent or above
  • Language: Proficiency in English or Chinese
  • English - Min. grade C6 (50% or higher); at least IELTS 4.5 or higher or a pass in GCE“N” Level English; or its equivalent
  • Mandarin - Min. grade C6 (50% or higher); at least pass in GCE“N” Level Mandarin; or its equivalent

Graduation Requirements

  • Must attend all lessons with minimum 100% attendance
  • Must complete Thesis (not less than 4000 words) on the date given before examination
  • Must score minimum of 70% in theory and practical examination
If the candidate is unsuccessful at the first attempt of any examination, the individual will be granted supplementary examination not more than twice within the next 2 years. No charges will be incurred on supplementary examination. If they are still unsuccessful after that, the candidate must re-register and complete the whole course of study again, before sitting the complete examination. i.e. practical and theory. You are required to complete at least 600 hours of working experience full time or part time in a reputable and professional beauty salon in order to gain proficiency in her/his profession. If a candidate passed his/her practical Examination and failed the Theory part of the Examination and the Accredited CIDESCO School has only 1 CIDESCO Examination per year, the candidate can acquire the necessary 600 hours of practical beauty therapy experience while waiting to do his/her retake for the Theory Examinations. Please take note that the time limit for the candidate to obtain the working experience is 3 years after having passed the CIDESCO Examinations. Should a candidate not have fulfilled her/his work experience within 3 years, she/he will be required to take the CIDESCO Examinations again. Upon completing the 600 hours working experience, the candidate must ask her/his employer for a signed formal letter on a business letterhead certifying the dates of the commencement and end of the working period. In any case of self-employment of the candidate, appropriate documented proof of the aforementioned information must be provided by their accounted or local authorities. After taking examination, students will have to work in the beauty industry for 600 hours of working experience. Students who successfully complete the examination and 600 hours of work will be awarded with the (CIDESCO) DIPLOMA by Comite International Desthetique Et De Cosmetologie (CIDESCO), Swiss.
