Students who successfully complete the examination will be awarded with the (ITEC) Level 3 Certificate in Eyelash Extension by International Therapy Examination Council, UK.
VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Certificate In Eyelash Extension aims to:
- Provide related knowledge and understanding required to perform Eyelash Extensions Treatments.
- Understanding contraindications and structure of the hair and their disorders.
- Provide opportunities for learners to focus on the development of their wider skills in a beauty Therapy setting, such as communication and problem solving.
- Provides opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as specialist in eyelash extension.
Upon successful completion, graduates of this programme can be pursue their career as Lash Aesthetician.
COURSE STRUCTURE
The course consists of 4 units with a total of 126 contact hours. Courses are delivered face to face.

The course can be taken within a minimum period of 2 months for full time and 4 months for part time.

Assessment and Examination
At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module.
Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include assignments, tests and final examinations.
In-House examination

ITEC examination
Theory: 15mins (MCQ) (10 questions)

Portfolio Evidence
Apply individual permanent lashes, to include total of 5 treatment evidence:
- Demonstrate different types of single lashes
Assignment:
Briefly describe the following in relation to individual permanent lash treatments, including:
- Basic structure of the hair and the hair growth cycle
- Products, tools and equipment required
- Basic hygiene requirements
- Basic client consultation including types of tests, contra-indications and contra-actions to look out for
- Methods of application
- Basic client care
- Basic aftercare and home care advice
Assignment:
Explain the factors that influence client care and communication in beauty related industries. To include the following:
- How to adapt methods of communication to suit the client and their needs
- What is meant by the term ‘professionalism’
- The importance of respecting a client’s ‘personal space’
- The importance of providing clear recommendations to the client
- The importance of adapting retail sales techniques to meet the client requirements
- Methods of improving working practices
- How to resolve client complaints
Assignment:
Explain the factors that influence working in the beauty related industries to include the following:
- Information on organisations, services, occupational roles, education and training opportunities
- Types of organisations
- Main services offered
- Main occupational roles and employment characteristics
- Education and training opportunities
- Opportunities to transfer to other sectors or industries

- Opportunities for developing and promoting own professional image
- Basic employment rights and employer responsibilities
- The importance of continual professional development
The minimum entry requirements are:
- At least 16 years old & above
- Academic: Secondary 3 (Grade 9) or equivalent or above
- Language: Proficiency in English or Chinese
- English - Min. grade C6 (50% or higher); at least IELTS 4.5 or higher or a pass in GCE“N” Level English; or its equivalent
- Mandarin - Min. grade C6 (50% or higher); at least pass in GCE“N” Level Mandarin; or its equivalent
- Must attend all lessons with minimum 100% attendance.
- Must complete all portfolio evidence on the date given before examination.
- Must score minimum of 60% in all theory and practical units.
