Students who successfully complete the examination will be awarded with the (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology by International Therapy Examination Council, UK.

VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology aims to:
- To provide skills at Level 3 in the National Qualification Framework for those interested in the Beauty Therapy industry.
- To provide opportunities for staff in the Beauty Therapy industry to gain a Level 3 qualification.
- To qualify candidates as Nail Technicians at Level 3 in the Beauty Therapy industry.
- To sustain the interest of candidates waiting to work in the Beauty Therapy industry at Level 3.
- To encourage knowledge and understanding for the Beauty Therapy industry at Level 3.
- To provide opportunities for candidates to focus on the development of the major Key skills and the winder Key skills in a Beauty Therapy context such as communicating with clients, working with others and problem solving.
- To provide opportunities for candidates to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as a nail Technician.

RECOGNITION

Upon successful completion, graduates of this programme can be pursue their career as Nail Technician.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course consists of 3 units with a total of 215 contact hours. Courses are delivered face to face.

TREATMENT EVIDENCE

Treatment evidence documentation must be completed under the supervision of a Lecturer who must monitor the quality of the treatments performed throughout the Learner's training to ensure that they meet the ITEC criteria.

The course can be taken within a minimum period of 2 months for Full Time and 6 Months for Part Time.

Every Monday – Friday: 10.30am-5.30pm

Part Time:

6 Months / 215 Hours

Every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 07.00pm-10.00pm

Assessment and Examination

At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module. Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include assignments, tests and final examinations.

In-House Examinations

Theory: 2 hours 30 mins (MCQ) (Include unit 11, 20 and 22)
Practical: 1 hours 30 mins

ITEC Examinations

Theory: 2 hours 30 mins (MCQ) (Include unit 11, 20 and 22)
Practical: 1 hours 30 mins

Total marks: 100
Pass marks: 60/100

Case Studies: (Treatment Evidence)
– Manicure & Pedicure – 5 clients, once each including the practical treatment and written presentation

Entry & Graduation Requirements

The minimum entry requirements are:
- At least 16 years old & above
- Academic: Secondary 3 (Grade 9) or equivalent or above
- Language: Proficiency in English or Chinese
- English - Min. grade C6 (50% or higher); at least IELTS 4.5 or higher or a pass in GCE“N” Level English; or its equivalent
- Mandarin - Min. grade C6 (50% or higher); at least pass in GCE“N” Level Mandarin; or its equivalent

Candidates must achieve the following requirements in order to graduate from the course:
- Must attend all lessons with minimum 100% attendance.
- Must complete all portfolio evidence on the date given before examination.
- Must score minimum of 60% in all theory and practical units.

Students who successfully complete the examination will be awarded with the (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma by International Therapy Examination Council, UK.
