This is a basic course on foot reflexology, suitable for anyone who would like to learn basic techniques and more on the different reflex points on the feet.

- Unit Introduction
- History of reflexology
- Concept of reflex zones on the feet
- Term intergral biology
- Structure of the feet, ankles and lower leg
- Disorders/conditions of the feet/hands and nails
- Effects of stress on the body systems and the ways in which reflexology can help
- Issues surrounding "consent" to treatment
- Importance of reflexology for clients and families receiving palliative or social care
- Methods of consultation
- Contra-indications that prevent treatment (requiring medical permission)
- Contraindications that restrict treatment
- Client care
- Demonstrate a reflexology treatment
- Interpret the reflexes
- Reactions to reflexology treatment (if possible)
- Reflexology treatment programme
- Homecare advice after treatment
Course Fees, Structure & Duration
The course can be taken within a period of 1 day
Course Inclusive of
– Usage of products
– Usage of towels
– Theory notes for foot reflexology
Assessment and Examination
No examination is required.
Certificate of participation will be awarded to students upon completion of the training lessons
In-House Examinations
Theory 30 minutes (multi choice paper).
Practical 1 hour 15 minutes includes 15 minutes examiner instructions.
Entry & Graduation Requirements
Nil. Anyone interested in Foot Reflexology Massage are welcome to join in.
